      @mikeardy We definitely plan to add support for Codesys runtime on Axons, the question is when. The current plan is to start woking on it in Q1/2019.

      @mikeardy
      Consider this as an alternative. I've created 500 holding registers
      0_1524082533025_img1.png
      In my program (it could be ina GVL) I have created an addary of 250 UDINT.
      0_1524082629032_img2.png
      Then I was able to map all of the registers in one go

      For generic CODESYS questions I suggest trying https://forum.codesys.com/, for many generic CODESYS questions there will already be an answer posted.

      @mikeardy It's not good idea to mix RS232 and Modbus. You would need something like this for Modbus RTU RS485 extension https://www.unipi.technology/extension-modules-c13

      Hi Mike,

      This has been an on-going topic for CODESYS on the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi does not have non-volatile RAM, and so the built in PERSISTENT and RETAIN variables within IEC61131 do not function. The neatest solution I have seen is discussed in this forum posthttps://forum.codesys.com/viewtopic.php?t=5722 where 3S have provided some sample code that can write retain variables to a file on demand and then restore at power up.

      Be careful about writing too frequently to the SDCard as you increase the chance of file system corruption if the power is interrupted whilst writing.

      Regarding wifi, CODESYS relays on the underlying Raspbian configuration. So yes you can enable WiFi and it will work. There is a discussion on how to do this on the UniPi forum https://forum.unipi.technology/topic/438/wifi-instead-nic-mervis the process is the same.

      I have no experience of using Bluetooth with CODESYS. I suggest contacting 3S or using the CODESYS forum.

      regards David

      Hi..i am a new user here. As per my knowledge many times you would not use the power from the USB-UART converter. The target device will provide power to the UART. All you need to connect is Rx,Tx and Ground. The TTL signals come in different flavors. 5V, 3.3V and 1.7V being common. This is all the more reason why not to use the power from the UART adapter. Put 5V TTL on 1.7V TTL pins and something will fry. Use no power from the UART adapter.

      Neuron is capable of preserving variable state using the MMC drive. Unfortunately I do not know whether the current CODESYS implementation makes use of this functionality, though I do not believe so. The CODESYS subforum may be able to provide a better answer.

      In the Axon series we have implemented better means for storing internal state, with fast flash memory used for counters and a replacement for the somewhat lacklucstre MMC arrangement on Neuron. This product line is however still in development, and will be for the next couple of months.
